Editorial independence
Tool reviews, workflows and field notes are selected because they may help readers do better work. A commercial relationship never guarantees coverage or a positive recommendation.
Affiliate links
The Make guide currently contains an affiliate link. If a reader signs up through it, Hacks² may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader. Other tool pages currently link directly to the official websites unless clearly marked otherwise.
When this applies, the relevant page will state it clearly near the recommendation. We will not disguise promotional links as independent advice.
How tools are assessed
We look for a clear use case, practical value, limitations, pricing context and whether the tool improves a real workflow. A large feature list is not enough.
